..."Pray for Triangle Zero’s latest record, PortRoyalSound8. Released on Nov. 9 through his own experimental label, Tri City, its 19 tracks are largely electronic, dreamy pop compositions. “All Pretty Lights and Sounds” begins with a Thom Yorke-ish piano progression and gradually resolves into an optimism-charged synthetic groove. “Memory” plays like a digital island jam, while “Feelers” is reminiscent of some of Grandaddy’s more ominous tracks. As a complete work, the record skews pretty mellow, but it’s hard to miss the current of paranoia simmering under the surface."
